Chocolate thumbprint cookies

Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Filling
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips or filling

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy, then add vanilla.
  3. Mix in flour, cocoa, and salt; form 1-inch balls and place on sheet.
  4. Make an indentation in each cookie and fill with chocolate chips.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes, cool on sheet then transfer to wire rack.
