  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup fruit jam e.g., raspberry, strawberry, apricot

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet.
  2. Cream butter and powdered sugar until fluffy, then mix in vanilla.
  3. Add flour and salt; mix until just combined. Form 1-inch balls and place on sheet.
  4. Make an indent in each ball, fill with jam, and decorate if desired.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are golden. Cool before serving.
