Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet.
- Cream butter and powdered sugar until fluffy, then mix in vanilla.
- Add flour and salt; mix until just combined. Form 1-inch balls and place on sheet.
- Make an indent in each ball, fill with jam, and decorate if desired.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are golden. Cool before serving.
