Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for rolling)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Mix dry ingredients and set aside.
  2. Cream butter and sugar, then add egg, food coloring, and vanilla.
  3. Gradually mix in dry ingredients, chill dough for 30 minutes.
  4. Shape dough into balls, coat in powdered sugar, and place on baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes, cool before serving.
