Method
- Bake the cake as per package instructions in two pans and cool.
- Cut each cake into thin layers and assemble one layer in a springform pan.
- Spread vanilla ice cream over the first layer and freeze for 30 minutes.
- Add the second cake layer, top with chocolate ice cream, and freeze for another 30 minutes.
- Cover with whipped cream, add toppings if desired, and freeze for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
For easier slicing, let the cake sit at room temperature for a few minutes before serving.
