Ingredients
  

Bananas
  • 2 to 3 pieces very ripe bananas, mashed completely smooth
  • 76 g butter, melted, unsalted or salted
  • 150 g granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 205 g all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch salt a small pinch
  • 226 g cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1 large egg
  • 60 g granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C) and grease a 4x8-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mix mashed bananas with melted butter, then add baking soda, salt, sugar, egg, and vanilla. Stir in flour until just combined.
  3. Beat cream cheese, egg, sugar, and flour until smooth. Dollop half onto batter in pan.
  4. Add remaining batter and cream cheese dollops. Swirl with a knife to create a marbled effect.
  5. Bake for 55-60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool before removing from pan.

Notes

Ensure bananas are fully mashed for moist bread. Swirl gently for best marbling effect.
