Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mash the bananas.
- Add applesauce, honey/maple syrup, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Stir in the chopped nuts, if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Slice and enjoy!
Notes
For a richer flavor, use brown butter instead of regular butter to grease the pan.
