Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 8-inch pans.
- Cream butter and sugar, add eggs one at a time. Mix dry ingredients, alternate with milk, then add vanilla.
- Divide batter into pans, bake for 25-30 minutes. Cool and level the cakes.
- Assemble layers with frosting, apply crumb coat, chill, then finish with smooth frosting. Decorate with colored frosting and flowers.
Notes
Chill the cake before decorating for best results.
