Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream butter and powdered sugar, then add egg, vanilla, and almond extracts.
- Mix in flour, peppermint extract, and salt; divide dough, color one half red.
- Roll into ropes, twist to form candy canes, and place on baking sheet.
- Bake 10-12 minutes, then sprinkle with crushed candy canes and cool.
Notes
Use a piping bag for easier shaping of the dough.
