Method
- Mash bananas and mix with buttermilk; set aside.
- Cream softened butter and brown sugar until light.
- Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla; mix well.
- Combine flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Alternately add to banana mixture, mixing just until combined.
- Fold in chopped pecans, pour into greased loaf pan, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 60 minutes.
- Cool for 10 minutes, then remove from pan and cool completely before slicing.
Notes
You can substitute walnuts or omit nuts if preferred.
