Ingredients

Beef and Marinade
  • 1 lb beef flank steak, sirloin, or ribeye, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for stir frying
Vegetables
  • 1 bell pepper thinly sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 carrot julienned
  • 0.5 cup snap peas ends trimmed
  • 2 green onions chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds optional, for garnish
  • 1 cup steamed rice optional, for serving

Method

  1. Prepare all ingredients by slicing the beef, mincing garlic, grating ginger, and cutting vegetables into desired sizes.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, and honey for the marinade. Pour over the beef slices and let marinate for 10 minutes.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, stirring for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Add the bell pepper, broccoli, carrot, and snap peas to the skillet. Stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  6. Return the beef to the skillet, pour in any remaining marinade, and stir everything together for 1-2 minutes. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a splash of rice vinegar or chili flakes during the stir-frying process. Customize with your favorite vegetables!
